Tabasco Sauce

ways to use this classic hot pepper sauce

pepper sauce, spicy sauce

Anyone who knows anything about hot sauce knows Tabasco, and it's not without reason; this is an incredibly versatile spicy pepper sauce and can be incorporated in a variety of cooking styles (assuming, of course, that one is after a reasonably spicy dish... this is a pretty potent sauce).

Article Text

I use tabasco in a number of contexts, but here are the main ways:

1) Mix 1 tbsp tabasco with 5 tbsp mustard to get an easy Southern-style spicy mustard sauce; it's a good accompaniment for dry meats like baked chicken or turkey. (I guess I'll have to post some relevant recipes)

2) Mix a few drops in with olive oil before frying vegetables to add some heat without actually having to serve the vegetables with a spicy sauce on their surface (I find people who are averse to spiciness are frequently happy with this)

3) Mix a few drops in with sour cream, or cream cheese, and mix with herbs for a quick spicy dip.
