Yellow Tail Shirazfruity, balanced, affordable australian shirazaustralian shirazYellow Tail is rapidly gaining popularity in California (and perhaps elsewhere); they make several affordable bottles that are generally of reasonable to high quality.
I usually have a bottle or two of this shiraz lying around... it's a great wine to keep around for pretty much any occasion. [0 / 0 found this useful , viewed 618 times]

Description / Instructions / ReviewThis particular bottle is one of my favorites from Yellow Tail, and I'd recommend it to anyone trying to explore Australian wines.
It's immediately pleasant and fruity, without the kick of some other shiraz. The bottle claims it has raspberry notes, although it tastes like plum to me; in any case, the smooth fruit taste comes out strongly without being overbearing. All in all, a great and cheap workhorse wine for food or for entertaining; I usually keep some around "just in case". |
