Monkey Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Who wouldn't want a bottle of wine with a swinging monkey on the label?

Seriously though, this is a well balanced sauvignon blanc, with a hint of fruit and a smooth finish. The label describes the fruitiness as "assertive"; don't believe it, this is pretty mild.

Description / Instructions / Review

This is a great compromise if you're caught between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay lovers; it is not as "bland" as many budget-grade sauvignon blancs, and is not oppressively fruity either.

As far as flavor goes, the fruit is something like mango (the bottle claims "tropical fruits"). There's also a hint of apple, or perhaps pear.

It's a good wine to drink on its own; it's a little mild to be paired with anything but very light foods.
