Chicken a la Plancha (modified)

easy sauteed chicken breast

10 minutes + 10 minutes cooking /serves 4

This is a very basic preparation of chicken which can be used over pasta, in a stir fry, or as a main meat dish.

For an authentic a la plancha preparation, skip the flour.

Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts
1/2 cup flour
canola oil
salt, pepper, and garlic powder

Directions

Cut thawed chicken breasts into thin slices. Alternatively, cut chicken into small strips to use over pasta or in sauces.

1. Mix garlic powder, salt, and pepper in flour.
2. Flour the chicken
3. Sautee chicken on each side for a few minutes until golden brown. (Use less oil than for deep frying, but more than for sauteeing onion).
Begin with very high heat, and lower to medium/high after 1-2 minutes.

To check whether chicken is fully cooked, poke with either fork or tooth pick, and make sure the juice which comes out is clear, not white.
