Ingredients- 2 lb frozen artichoke halves
- 3 fresh tomatoes, pureed - 1 large onion peeled, halved and sliced - 1 tbspoon dry marjoram - 1 tbspoon lemon peel (zest) - salt and black pepper to taste - 6 tbspoons olive oi1 - 1 cup warm water or broth Directions- saute onion in olive oil until golden brown
- add frozen artichoke halves and toss and stir until slightly golden - add tomato puree, salt and pepper - add marjoram and zest, stir for a minute or two - add water, cover cooking pot and let simmer for about 30 min or until artichokes tender (add water of you have to) - ready when artichokes tender and sauce thick - place artichokes in platter empty sauce over them serve with cooked rice or meat |
