Food / ServiceThe cheesecake factory has pretty good sandwiches, and fresh, warm bread comes standard with every meal. Of course, their cheesecakes are rich and delicious.
The rest of their extensive menu (including even salads), especially the more exotic entrees, are generally not very good. Extremely enthusiastic waitstaff. Environment / AmbienceThis place is in the heart of Old Town, and attracts many out-of-town patrons. It's a giant restaurant, and always very, very crowded, especially at peak times (Friday and Saturday evenings). If you're a local, and want to try this place, I suggest going either near closing time or on a Mon-Thu.
I had a roommate once who commented that the waiting space (inside of which people always collect) was especially awkward and even degrading -- it's a very small space at the entrance crammed with strangers who generally don't want to make conversation with each other in this context. It's pretty unpleasant -- I recommend walking around town while you wait for your table. Otherwise, this exceedingly commercial (see wiki link) chain restaurant is elaborate, modern, and clean. The lighting is warm and just right, and the booths are large and private. |
